Napier 2009

While not achieving the same success as previous years, Addington Brass performed very well in all three stage events at the National Brass Band Championships in Napier. We were pleased with our performances of the hymn tune “Stella”, test piece “Spectrum” and most particularly the own choice item “Excaliber, Sword of Justice”.
While not placing in the top three we still received many positive comments from the Judge and the Audience.

Music aside, the 5 days in Napier were full of fun and fellowship, from the drive from Wellington in mini vans (including the “tiki tour” through Levin) to the wonderful accommodation in Napier and the attractions on offer in the area (mmmm wine/olives/good cafes).

Special thanks to our band supporters who traveled with us and also to the Woolston Band who provided the audience when we drew first on the Friday morning.
